If you have worked for a two-thousand-person contractor, you know what it is to be a badge number. This is the other thing.
We are not going to pretend we are the biggest shop on the Gulf Coast. We are not. What we can tell you is what the work is actually like here.
You will not do one thing all year. A millwright here sets a machining center in March and runs a fabrication job in May. Crews are small enough that the person who assigned the work knows your name and was probably on the job with you.
The work travels. We go where the job is, and some of it is out-of-town for a week or two at a stretch. Some of it is an emergency call on a Saturday. That is not for everyone, and we would rather say so up front than have you find out in month two.
Every day starts with a brief and a JSA — we walk the tasks before anyone picks up a tool, and if a condition changed overnight the plan changes with it. You will be asked what you think, and we expect an answer.
